The awards will take place on the 2nd December at the Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne.

18:30 – Welcome Reception
19:30 – Awards Dinner
21:15 – Awards Ceremony
00:00 – Carriages

COVID 19 – Keeping you safe at NEMA

To ensure the safety of everyone in attendance at this year’s awards we ask that you take the following precautions before and during the event:

  • Please take a lateral flow test within 24 hours of the event.
  • Please do not come to the awards if you have a cough, fever or other COVID 19 symptoms.
  • The wearing of face masks is at personal discretion and is not mandatory at the event. The venue staff will be wearing masks and gloves while serving for your protection.
  • There will be hand sanitisers located around the venue. Please use these regularly throughout the evening.
  • Please be mindful of other guests and keep your distance where possible.

Awards Host – Rob Broderick (aka Abandoman)

He continues to sell out his fringe runs in Edinburgh and Australia each year, wowing audiences wherever he plays.

Abandoman was recently part of The Deirdre O’Kane Show on Sky Max. He’s supported multi-platinum artist Ed Sheeran on his sell out UK tour, enthralledaudiences on Channel 4’s 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, BBC1’s The One Show and BBC2′s The Stephen K Amos Show, guested on various radio shows from Nick Grimshaw (BBC Radio 1) to Christian O Connell (Absolute Radio) and held a song writing residency with Chris Hawkin (BBC 6 Music).

Abandoman has headlined comedy stages at every major UK music festival from Glastonbury to Latitude and stormed international stages in Australia, Europe, The USA, Canada and Hong Kong.
